Double-blind date, the sequel

I know you are all dying to find out what happened on my blind date. Ok, so a couple days before the date Susie said she found out that that guy was from Texas and he liked blue grass music. That’s all I had to go on. Anyway, the day of, about an hour before, she calls and says, “Um, he’s not from Texas, he’s from India.” That’s a little ways away from Texas, but whatever.

So we went over there and the guy Susie was going with was one of those people who only has painfully awkward conversation. Ugh. Why me?? I was the only one that was really saying much of anything—keeping the conversation going every time it died out (every 30 seconds or so). Sunet, my date, was talking more than the other two, and he seemed to be fine with conversation. Finally I said all enthusiastically, “So, are we going to go hiking?” Susie’s date, Mike, said, “Are you in a hurry to get somewhere or something?” Man, I was just thinking that since the whole purpose of going on the date was to hike, and since we were having such a boring, painful conversation, it might be a welcomed idea. I guess not. Anyway, so they agreed to leave—whew!

We went on this hike up in Santequin Canyon. As some of you know, I like to play on hikes—play in the creek, climb on stuff, cross the creek wherever there is a log, have leaf races, etc. So I was having a ball, and everyone was just kinda looking at me funny. After a while they started to get into it and have a good time. After that, it was great! I had a wonderful time. They all started talking more, so I wasn’t bored trying to carry the entire conversation. What a relief.

The Indian guy was studying in Texas, and was here for an internship over the summer. He’s actually Hindu, which was cool. I talked to him about his religion, traditions, culture, food, etc. I love to learn about things like that.

So, overall it was great fun. I was worried about it because of the experience Jen Harms had with an Indian guy (you’ll have to ask her about it), but Sunet was super nice and easy to talk to.

Later that evening Susie gave me a call and said, “Sunet said that he’s not interested in a relationship or anything, but he does want to have friends to hang out with, and he wants to take you to the Llama Fest.” Mmm… I’m not sure if I want to go. I have gone out with so many foreign guys, and that is what they all say before they try to date you. I would love to go to the Llama Fest, but I’m not sure I want to go with him. What do I do?

Llama fest is awesome. Just go. It's non threatning so don't worry. Just bask in the llama goodness. I've gone the past 3 years. I don't trust the food, but yeah, feed a llama.
Plus I like his name. It's like a typo of sunset.

go in a group, and ask him for advice about a specific boy (who you could have specifically made up), that should make sure he stays at bay.
